Some resources I've found over the years, all godsends to writers:

MLA Citation Generator - The best of its kind I've found. Fill in a few blanks,
and it gives you a correct MLA citation. Sweet.

APA Research Style Crib Sheet - A good general guide to APA.

Merriam-Webster Online - One of the better, more complete, and more reliable
free online dictionaries. Also a handy-dandy thesaurus. There's a more
complete pay version, but I find the freebie is usually adequate.

Stopwatch - An online Java stopwatch, perfect for when you need to time your
writing. Want to make sure that three-minute piece really runs exactly three
minutes?

TruthOrFiction.com - Along with Snopes.com, this site (run by the
ever-diligent Rich Buhler) is my bible of bull-cookie detection. Perfect for
double-checking that chain e-mail, urban legend, suspect news story, or
anything else that "everybody knows." If something's not there, submit the
rumor or use the search function--Buhler uses those search terms to find new
rumors to bust.

Scriptologist.com - An invaluable resource for screenwriters. Listings, blogs,
the works. And, of course, I'm listed there.
Language Arts: Integrating Skills for Classroom Teaching - The latest book
by one of my clients, Dr. Mildred R. Donoghue. An indispensable textbook for
preservice and inservice teachers working with children in the field of
language arts.
